We tried that carrot pictured below. Peeled it. Sliced it. Passed the slices around. Emma quickly gave us her review. She spit it out and said, "disCUSStin'!!!" Unfortunately, I'd have to agree. It had a weird, intense carrot/metal taste. What the what? Bummer.
I learned about this problem at my gardening class, Maria. They said winter carrots or carrots grown in cool weather are the sweet carrots. Summer carrots are bitter. They were so beautiful, though. Make a centerpiece from them.

ReplyDeleteOur carrots turned out soft. We cooked some of them with butter and brown sugar and they were okay. Not so good raw. This was our first try at carrots too.
